Daren Ganga (File Photo) - Endorses Chris Gayle was West Indies captain

ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – The Trinidad and Tobago captain Darren Ganga has endorsed the recent appointment of Chris Gayle as the captain of the West Indies cricket team.

Gayle was appointed as the captain of the team last week for the Sri Lanka segment of the Digicel Home Series starting later this month.

And Ganga, one of the leading candidates for West Indies captaincy when Brian Lara retired from international cricket last year, believes Gayle as done well and deserves to lead the once side once more.

“Well, I think that he has been very good as a captain so far. He has done a marvelous job with the team and I wish him well for the upcoming series,” said Ganga, who is currently leading T&T in a fifth-round Carib Beer Series match against the Windward Islands here.

“I know that he has the support of all his teammates and is basically ensuring that West Indies cricket does well.

“During his tenure as captain of the team, he has definitely gotten the results and he is obviously the guy to go with,” the former West Indies vice-captain said.
