BARBADOS-EXAMS-CXC issues
new timetable for CAPE in Trinidad & Tobago
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC
- The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) on Friday issued a new timetable for
the resumption of Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in Trinidad
and Tobago.
Communication Studies
Paper 02 would now be offered on June 16 while the other examination papers
would commence on June 23 and completed July 25, the CXC said in a statement.
The Council took the
decision to replace all CAPE papers originally scheduled between May 12 and
June 13 in Trinidad and Tobago with new examination papers, the statement said.
It added that the CAPE
results for Trinidad and Tobago would be released on August 16, five days later
than the originally scheduled release date.
“The Council
is of the view that under the circumstances, this is the best possible option
to ensure the integrity of its examination,” CXC Registrar Dr. Didacus Jules
said.
“The Council
assures the public of its strong commitment to providing the region with
examinations of the highest quality which are internationally recognised,” he
added.
CXC was forced
to stop all exams in Trinidad and Tobago after it was discovered that a breach
of the system led to examination papers being sold to students ahead of the
tests.
