Miami Heart Doctor, Author to Share Heart Health Facts and Myths

Author and Miami cardiologist Michael Ozner, M.D., will be the guest speaker at a special gathering on Friday, July 10, at the St. Kitts Marriott, from 5:30-8 p.m.  Dr. Ozner’s most recent book is The Great American Heart Hoax, which offers groundbreaking truths about what helps prevent, eradicate and reverse heart disease. His other books include .Prevent Your First Heart Attack and The Miami Mediterranean Diet. 

 

The free lecture and reception are hosted by the Honorable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, and Brian E. Keeley, President and CEO of Baptist Health South Florida. Mr. Keeley is also honorary consul general for St. Kitts and Nevis in Florida.

 

“Dr. Ozner has long been an advocate for giving people the information they need to make wise choices both to prevent heart disease from developing, as well as about the best, most effective options for treating heart disease," said Mr. Keeley. "It is Baptist Health's honor to offer an opportunity for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis to share information with physicians such as Dr. Ozner at community events such as these."

 

Baptist Health has a long-standing relationship with the government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis. The purpose of the relationship is to provide the people of the federation with outstanding medical care, health education and access to advanced medical technology. Baptist Health has hosted several public health lectures to educate the community about wellness and the prevention of various health conditions, as well as honor residents who have made a difference in the healthcare sector.

 

Dr. Ozner is a renowned pioneer in the field of preventive cardiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School Medicine, and pursued a cardiology fellowship from Stanford University in California. A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Ozner is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the American Heart Association. He is Medical Director of Wellness and Prevention at Baptist Health South Florida, the largest and most-respected nonprofit healthcare organization in South Florida.
